What is digital evidence management software?
It records how a digital file was collected, stored, accessed, and transferred so its integrity can be proven later. edeXa Certify adds a blockchain anchor, so the record is independently verifiable rather than trusted because a vendor vouches for it.
How does blockchain chain of custody work?
Each file is hashed locally. Only the hash and its timestamp are written to the edeXa Layer 1 blockchain. Re-hashing later either matches the anchored value, proving nothing changed, or it does not, proving something did.
Do our files leave our servers?
No. Files stay in your own systems. Only a one-way cryptographic fingerprint is anchored on chain, so confidential content is never uploaded or exposed.
Is a blockchain timestamp accepted as evidence?
Admissibility is always the court's decision. An anchored hash supports authentication of digital records under rules such as US FRE 902(13) and 902(14) and eIDAS in the EU, by providing a reliable tamper-evident record of integrity and time.
Does it replace our existing systems?
